Saturday in New York City
After our meeting at the Lombardy we had pizza at Angelo’s on 57th. I had mapped out two walking tours for myself and thought I would do the Architectural today and the Central Park on Monday. It didn’t go as planned but that’s ok.

So after returning to the hotel and changing clothes I headed out towards Rockefeller Center.
The art exhibit was interesting.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral is right next door. It is the seat of the NY Archbishop. I always liked the Gothic structure with the many stained glass windows. To my surprise there was a wedding.
They had a wonderful soprano singing and to my luck I was next to a gentleman who was singing along with the most incredible voice. He wasn’t overpowering so it was a perfect balance.
The freshly married couple left in an antique NY cap.
I realized this weekend was the Met Fest so I made myself on the way. Learning new things on the way.
There was another wedding
At the Modern Met I watched the restaurant preparing for the evening.
Then there was another wedding.
I also discovered where everyone was getting their designer bags. It reminded me of the SIC episode. The bags were just a little sad looking.
I arrived at the Met
And guess what. Yes another wedding.
After the Met Fest I made my way back through Central Park. There was Hamilton under the cloudy sky of New York.
And next to it is Cleopatra’s Needle, it twin is in London. The needle was erected on February 22nd, 1881, it was a gift from the Egyptian Government and the transportation of the needle took one year. William Vanderbilt paid for the transport and when the needle arrived in New York it was towed up the Hudson River to 96th street and then a special rail track moved the obelisk through the city one city block per day.
The bronze crabs are from the Roman times as supports for the broken corners.
Next I found King Jagiello
The turtle pond was my next stop
Belvedere Castle was to busy for me today
So I wandered around a little
Checking out all the cool corners
I think this is my favorite moment
Then I saw another wedding
From there I stopped by Webster
And then over to strawberry fields. The musician there was really good
Then I made my way back to the hotel
Our plans were to watch the drone show in the park and then have dinner. Sadly my phone didn’t capture the drone show very well.
